Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a carboxylic acid, by which the carboxylic acid selected from monocarboxylic acids, dicarboxylic acids and tricarboxylic acids can efficiently be synthesized from an unsaturated triacylglycerol as a raw material with hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizing agent.
This method for producing the carboxylic acid is characterized by reacting the unsaturated triacylglycerol with the hydrogen peroxide in the presence of one or more compounds selected from tungstic acid, heterotungstic acid and their salts, and a quaternary ammonium polybasic acid hydrogen salt.
