Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cationized cellulose derivative, with which in a solid phase reaction, a reaction rate between cellulose or a cellulose derivative with a reagent having a cationic group can be made fast and the cationic group is made to react uniformly.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a powder type cationized cellulose derivative, which comprises reacting at least one kind of raw material cellulose selected from cellulose and cellulose derivatives with a reagent having a cationic group. While stirring powder type raw material cellulose in the presence of a basic catalyst, the reagent is supplied by spraying to carry out the reaction. An amount of the reagent to be sprayed relative to 1 mole of anhydroglucose unit of the raw material cellulose is 0.2 mole or more and 3.0 mole or less. A ratio of spray speed (mmol/AGU-mol second) of the reagent per 1 mole of ahhydroglucose unit of the raw material cellulose to a peripheral velocity (m/second) of stirring is more than 0 (mmol/AGU-mol m) to 20 (mmol/AGU-mol m) or less.
