Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CATIONIZED CELLULOSE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009102587
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for producing cationized cellulose, in which cellulose can be cationized directly, industrially simply and highly selectively.

The method for producing cationized cellulose comprises a step of reacting low-crystallinity powdery cellulose with the glycidyl trialkyl ammoniun salt shown by formula (1) (wherein R1-3 are the same or different from one another and each a 1-4C hydrocarbon group; X is a halogen atom) in the presence of a catalyst. The low-crystallinity powdery cellulose has 50% crystallinity and an alkali metal hydroxide is used as the catalyst.
