To provide a cellulose fiber-reinforced composite in which fibrillated cellulose fibers are dispersed in a polymer compound, by synthesizing raw materials while the fibrillated cellulose fibers are held to be dispersed in the raw material, in the method for producing the cellulose fiber-reinforced composite.

This method comprises a grinding step of disintegrating cellulose fibers by passing a pulp dispersed in a liquid polyhydric alcohol being a precursor of a polymer compound into a grinder, and a step of subjecting the pulp to a reaction with a compound having a plurality of functional groups forming chemical bonding to hydroxy groups of the polyhydric alcohols, to synthesize the polymer compound, followed by molding it.
