Abstract:
To provide a method for producing an easily handled cellulose nanofiber graft polymer with sufficiently evenly introduced graft chains, ensuring both productivity and efficiency.SOLUTION: Provided herein is a method for producing a cellulose nanofiber graft polymer having cellulose nanofibers with a grafted radical-polymerizable monomer by irradiating a dispersion liquid including the cellulose nanofibers and the radical-polymerizable monomer, and a dispersion medium, wherein the radiation is gamma rays; the concentration of the cellulose nanofibers in the dispersion liquid is less than 2 mass% relative to the total of the dispersion medium and the cellulose nanofibers; and the thickness of the dispersion liquid in the direction of gamma ray irradiation is 5 mm or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
