Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a chain polymer having a controlled molecular weight and a controlled molecular weight distribution and to provide a chain polymer produced by the method.SOLUTION: The method for producing a chain polymer comprises subjecting a cyclic polymer including a repeating unit having one carbon-carbon double bond capable of causing a metathesis exchange reaction and as an exchange reaction agent a compound having one carbon-carbon double bond capable of causing a metathesis exchange reaction to metathesis exchange reaction in the presence of a catalyst.SELECTED DRAWING: None
