To provide a method for producing chlorinated propane and recycling a reaction gas, in which carbon tetrachloride is reacted with a gaseous ethylene compound such as ethylene and vinyl chloride to produce the chlorinated propane and then a load to be required to treat exhaust gas is reduced and the utilization rate of a raw material is improved.
At least one reactor and a gas recovery vessel are prepared. After a reaction in the reactor is completed, the gas remaining in the gas phase is absorbed in the carbon tetrachloride stored in the gas recovery vessel. Then, the gas-phase gas-absorbed carbon tetrachloride is reacted with a new ethylene compound to further produce chlorinated propane. Since the unreacted ethylene compound or carbon tetrachloride, which accounts for the majority of the gas-phase gas after the reaction is completed, is used as a reactive raw material of a next batch, the load to be required to treat exhaust gas can be reduced and the utilization rate of the raw material can be improved.
