To provide a method for producing a chlorinated propylene-containing polymer, which includes a step of chlorinating a propylene-containing polymer in a mixed liquid of a chlorine-based solvent and water, and which can provide a target material more efficiently than conventionally.
The method for producing a chlorinated propylene-containing polymer includes (1) a step 1 of dispersing at least one propylene-containing polymer of polypropylene and a propylene-α-olefin copolymer in a mixed liquid of chloroform and water to thereby obtain a dispersion liquid, (2) a step 2 of introducing chlorine gas in the dispersion liquid under heating at a temperature of ≤130°C of the dispersion liquid to thereby chlorinate the propylene-containing polymer, (3) a step 3 of adding a water-insoluble epoxy group-containing compound to the reaction liquid obtained in the step 2, leaving the resultant untouched, and thereafter, preparatively collecting a chloroform-containing phase, and (4) a step 4 of distilling chloroform out of the chloroform-containing phase to thereby obtain the chlorinated propylene-containing polymer.
