Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a chlorosulfonylbenzoic acid compound easily in a high yield.
The chlorosulfonylbenzoic acid compound is produced by subjecting a chlorosulfonylbenzoyl chloride compound represented by formula (1) (wherein R is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, 1-4C alkyl group, 1-4C alkoxy group, nitro group or carboxy group) to hydrolysis to hydrolyze its chlorocarbonyl group selectively and efficiently under an acidic condition in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst and an inorganic salt.
