Abstract:
To provide a method for simply producing a cis-4-cyanocyclohexanecarboxylic acid ester in a high yield from a cis-trans mixture of a 4-cyanocyclohexanecarboxylic acid ester.
This method for producing the cis-4-cyanocyclohexanecarboxylic acid ester expressed by general formula (II) (R1 is a lower alkoxy or the like; R2, R3, R4 and R5 are each H or the like; R6 is a lower alkyl or the like; and n is an integer of 0 to 2) comprises treating the cis-trans mixture of the ester compound expressed by formula (I) with a Broensted base in a solvent so as to crystallize the cis-4-cyanocyclohexanecarboxylic acid ester.
