Abstract:

To provide a method enabling enlarged polymer latex to be obtained without forming coagulum.

This method for enlarging polymer latex is characterized by comprising obtaining enlarged polymer latex in a short time by adding an emulsifier of specific chemical structure to a polymer latex of small-sized particles obtained by emulsion polymerization and subjecting the resultant polymer latex to agitation under specific conditions of an enlarging device and addition of an acid or base under specific conditions so as to form no byproduct coagulum and keep solid concentrations becoming no industrial problem.
