To produce cokes for a blast furnace having a high strength stably obtained by a thermal decomposition of waste plastics into a coke furnace.
The waste plastic previously mixed with a coal is charged to the lower part of a carbonizing chamber of the coke furnace, and the coal is charged thereon. The charged plastic is carbonized. At the time, preferably, the mixture obtained by mixing ≥10 wt.% coal containing ≥5 wt.% dust coal having ≤0.3 mm particle diameter with the waste plastic is charged into the lower part of the carbonizing chamber, and the coal is charged thereon to carbonize the plastic. The content of a volatile component in the coal to be mixed with the waste plastic and to be charged into the lower part of the carbonizing chamber is preferably ≤35%. It is also effective that the mixture obtained by mixing ≥10 wt.% coke breeze containing ≥5 wt.% coke breeze having ≥0.3 mm particle diameter instead of the coal, with the waste plastic is charged into the lower part of the carbonizing chamber, and the coal is charged thereon to carbonize the plastic.
