Abstract:

To provide a method for production which is suitable for stable industrial production of a colored coating particle dispersion applicable to a water-based multi-color pattern coating.

The method for producing the colored coating particle dispersion (I) in which colored coating particles are dispersed in an aqueous medium comprises bringing an aqueous resin composition (A) into contact with an aqueous colored coating composition (B). The method for producing the colored coating particle dispersion (I) is characterized in that the aqueous resin composition (A) contains an aqueous resin (a1), a metal compound (a2) and water and the acid value of the aqueous resin (a1) is within the range of 2-20 mg KOH/g.
