To provide a method for producing a composite body of a rubber reinforcing wire-like body-rubber having excellent adhesive properties with rubber without requiring alloying treatment and also without undergoing a wire drawing stage, and to provide a composite body of a rubber reinforcing wire-like body-rubber obtained thereby.

To a rubber reinforcing wire-like body, using a copper-zinc alloy electroplating bath comprising at least one kind selected from copper salts, zinc salts, alkali metal salts of pyrophosphoric acids, amino acids and the salts thereof and having the pH of 10 to 12, plating treatment is performed, and next, the rubber reinforcing wire-like body subjected to the plating treatment is directly coated with rubber.
