Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a condensate of resorcin and acetone, in which the residual amount of unreacted resorcin is reduced.
The method for producing a condensate of resorcin and acetone includes: a step of reacting resorcin and acetone in the presence of an acid; and a step of removing, in the presence of an acid, water produced as a byproduct of the reaction. The production method preferably includes: a step of reacting resorcin and acetone in the presence of an acid; a step of removing, in the presence of an acid, water produced as a byproduct of the reaction; and a step of mixing the mixture after the removal of the water with a base.
