PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a novel acetone-aldehyde condensate.SOLUTION: A method for producing a condensate includes the reaction of formaldehyde 1.5 mole or more and 10.0 mole or less, ammonia 0.7 mole or more and 5.0 mole or less, and sulfite 0.25 mole or more and 0.75 mole or less, based on hydroxy acetone 1 mole, in an aqueous solvent and under an acidic condition.SELECTED DRAWING: None
