Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a copolymer of an α-olefin/cycloolefin in high polymerization activity and effectively incorporating the cycloolefin.
The copolymer is obtained by copolymerizing (A) a straight-chain or branched 2-30C α-olefin with (B) a cycloolefin in the presence of the catalyst for polymerization of olefin comprising (C) a transition metal compound expressed by general formula (IV) and (D) at least a compound selected from (D-1) an organometallic compound, (D-2) an organic aluminumoxy compound, and (D-3) a compound forming an ionic pair by reacting with the transition metal compound (C).
