Abstract:
To efficiently provide a heat-moldable copolymer having improved molecular weight and prepared from an acrylic or a methacrylic ester monomer and an olefin monomer.
A method for producing the copolymer comprises polymerizing a polymerizable monomer mixture containing at least the monofunctional (meth)acrylic ester monomer (A), the olefin monomer (B) and a polyfunctional monomer (C) having ≥2 radically polymerizable groups in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator (D) and a Lewis acid compound (E). The method for production is characterized in that the amount of the polyfunctional monomer (C) is ≥0.01 to ≤0.5 mol% based on the monomer (A).
