Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a gelled cosmetic composition through a simple means.

A smectite clay is mixed with a lipophilic polar solvent at 40F to 50F(4.4C to 10C) to form a clay/solvent mixture, then the clay/solvent mixture is heated to form expanded gel, thereby producing the cosmetic composition.
