Abstract:
To provide a method of easily and economically producing a cyclic disulfide compound in high yield.
A cyclic disulfide compound is obtained in high yield by reacting a dihalogen compound with a polysulfide of an alkali metal in a molar ratio of 1 mole of the dihalogen compound to ≥1.05 mole of the polysulfide in a solvent including a hydrophilic solvent, and then, subjecting an obtained product to heat treatment. In this way, easy and economical production of the cyclic sulfide compound can be achieved.
