To provide an eco-friendly method for quickly producing a cyclic compound without generating waste materials by using a supercritical, subcritical or pressurized carbon dioxide as a substitute solvent for conventional organic solvent in the Robinson reaction to synthesize a cyclic compound from ketones and vinylketones.
The method for the production of the cyclic compound comprises the synthesis of the cyclic compound by the cyclization reaction or ring condensing reaction of ketones and vinylketones in one step in the presence of a supercritical, subcritical or pressurized carbon dioxide. The invention provides a synthetic method capable of efficiently carrying out a complicate Robinson reaction in a short time compared with conventional methods. The objective compound is synthesized by a near zero-emission process in high selectivity and yield.
