Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain a cycloolefin in high selectivity in a high yield by a partial hydrogenation reaction of a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. SOLUTION: This method for producing a cycloolefin comprises partially hydrogenating a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon in a liquid phase in the presence of water by using a silica mesophore molecular sieve supporting ruthenium. Consequently, the method has the following advantages and a remarkably high value. (1) The objective cycloolefin can be obtained from a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon in high selectivity in a high yield efficiently based on a ruthenium unit weight. (2) Treatments related to removal of the catalyst and separation operation are simple. (3) Ruthenium as the supported catalyst can be highly supported, activity based on the catalyst is increased and the catalyst is strong in deterioration of metal poisoning and has excellent industrial stability.
