Abstract:

To provide a method by which a reaction for forming a diaryl carbonate is made to more efficiently proceed than a conventional method.

This method for producing the diaryl carbonate comprises feeding a mixture of carbon monoxide with oxygen and an inert substance (A) in which a liquid phase is present into a reactional vessel for oxycarbonylation in the method for producing the diaryl carbonate comprising making the inert substance (A) capable of being distilled out together with formed water from a reactional mixture coexist while separating formed water together with the inert substance (A) from the reactional mixture in the reaction for oxycarbonylating an aromatic hydroxy compound in the presence of carbon monoxide, oxygen and a catalyst.
