Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously producing a diaryl carbonate with high productivity stably for a prolonged period of time.SOLUTION: The method for producing a diaryl carbonate comprises a step (1) 110, 120 of obtaining an alkyl aryl carbonate, a step (2) 110, 120 of obtaining a reaction product from the alkyl aryl carbonate, a step (3) 130, 140 of separating a diaryl carbonate and high-boiling components from the reaction product, and a step (4) 6,8 of recycling the high-boiling components to the step (1) and/or the step (2), wherein a specific compound included in the high-boiling components when being recycled in the step (4) satisfies a specific requirement. A producing apparatus shown in Fig. 1 is equipped with an ester exchange reaction distillation columns 110, 120, which have a continuous multistage structure, a distillation column 130, and a distillation purification column 140. Specifically, lines 1, 12 are feed lines for feeding raw compounds and a titanium-containing composition, or the like. Lines 3 and 9 are recovery lines for recovering low boiling materials and a product compound, respectively. A line 11 is a removal line of high boiling materials. The apparatus is also equipped with a preheater 113 for feed materials.
