To provide a method for producing a C4 dicarboxylate crystal with a large amount of oil absorption.SOLUTION: A method for producing C4 dicarboxylate crystal includes the step for precipitation of C4 dicarboxylate crystal in the presence of an anionic polymer from an aqueous solution containing C4 dicarboxylate or a salt thereof. In the aqueous solution, a mass ratio of the content of the anionic polymer to the content of the C4 dicarboxylate is 5×10or more and 0.5 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
