Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a diesel engine exhaust valve which can be used in a high temperature combustion type engine and has a shaft part and an umbrella part integrated with each other by using a Ni-base age-precipitated alloy.SOLUTION: A method for producing a diesel engine exhaust valve includes steps (S1, S2) for preparing a round bar material consisting of a Ni-base age-precipitated alloy and working the round bar material to a preform in a prescribed valve shape having an umbrella part on an end of a shaft part, a first heat treatment step (S3) for applying heat treatment after passing an aging hardness peak and before being softened, a machining step (S4) for machining at least a surface of the umbrella part, a welding step (S5) for forming build-up welded layers in multiple layers on the umbrella part by a welding material consisting of the Ni-base age-precipitated alloy, and a second heat treatment step (S6) for applying heat treatment and adjusting hardness of the build-up layer.
