Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a diester of glutaric acid in good yield.
This method for producing the diester of the glutaric acid is characterized in that a benzaldehyde compound is reacted with an acetic ester in the presence of an aromatic hydrocarbon-based organic solvent, and further the formed ester of cinnamic acid is reacted with an ester of cyanoacetic acid.
