Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily producing an oxidation reaction product of a saturated hydrocarbon or a derivative thereof using the saturated hydrocarbon or the derivative thereof as a raw material.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a diol body which comprises a reaction step of irradiating a reaction system with light in the presence of a raw material and chlorine dioxide radicals. The raw material is a saturated hydrocarbon or a derivative thereof. The reaction system contains an organic phase. The organic phase contains the raw material and the chlorine dioxide radicals. In the reaction step, the raw material is oxidized by the light irradiation to produce a diol body of the raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: None
