Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a thick dispersion of metal microparticles, which has age stability and high dispersion stability; a dispersion of metal microparticles; and a coloring composition using the same.

The method for producing the dispersion of the metal microparticles includes reducing metal ions in the presence of an alkali-soluble polymer having one or more sulfur atoms and/or nitrogen atoms to form the metal microparticles. The dispersion of the metal microparticles includes the alkali-soluble polymer having one or more sulfur atoms and/or nitrogen atoms, and the metal microparticles. The coloring composition includes at least one resin or a precursor thereof, a pigment particle and a polymer to be a binder. A thick coloring composition containing the metal microparticles with high dispersion stability can be prepared by using the above dispersion of the microparticles and the above coloring composition. The dispersion of the metal microparticles can be used for a color filter and a liquid crystal display.
