Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing dodecanedicarboxylic acid from 1, 2-hydroxy-5, 9-cyclododecadiene, by which the amount of hydrogen peroxide used is controlled and the objective compound is economically inexpensively produced in a high yield.
SOLUTION: In the method for producing the dodecanedicarboxylic acid from the 1, 2-hydroxy-5, 9-cyclododecadiene, (a) 1, 2-dihydroxy-5, 9-cyclododecadiene is isomerized in the presence of a platinum group catalyst under ≤1 Mpa hydrogen pressure to give a mixture of 1, 2-cyclododecanedione and 2-hydroxycyclododecanone, the mixture is reduced with hydrogen under 0.5-5 Mpa hydrogen pressure to give 2-hydroxycyclodedecanone and (b) the compound is oxidized with a hydrogen peroxide-or a peroxy acid-containing solution.
