In the method for producing the endless belt having only one underlying layer 1 or comprising at least two layers including the underlying layer 1, after a polymer having a terminal carboxylic acid is prepared by reacting at least one compound (C) selected from the group consisting of a polyester having at least two hydroxy groups, a polycarbonate having at least two hydroxy groups, and a polyether having at least two hydroxy groups with a dibasic acid anhydride (D) in advance, the polymer is reacted with an aromatic isocyanate compound (A) and an aromatic polycarboxylic acid anhydride (B) to prepare a modified polyamidimide resin, and the underlying layer 1 of the endless belt for the electrophotographic instrument is formed by using the modified polyamidimide resin.
