Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an epoxy compound, which has an extremely small content of heavy metal such as tungsten, preferably, has a small amount of a nitrogen-containing compound derived from onium salt, without requiring a complicated refining step.SOLUTION: The method for producing an epoxy compound is provided in which hydrogen peroxide is caused to act on a compound having a carbon-carbon double bond in the presence of at least one of a tungsten compound and a molybdenum compound and in the presence of an onium salt having one or more substituents convertible into a functional group that has 20 or more carbon atoms and contains active hydrogen or its salt.SELECTED DRAWING: None
