Abstract:
To provide a method for producing an ethylene copolymer for a lubricant in which white turbidness is prevented from occurring.SOLUTION: A method for producing an ethylene copolymer with a weight average molecular weight of 1,000-20,000 determined by GPC, wherein, in the presence of a transition metal compound and an organic metal compound containing a group 13 element in the periodic table, ethylene and C3-20 α-olefin are copolymerized under the conditions satisfying following requirement (I): (I) it has the step of feeding a liquid phase part of a reactor with ethylene, and a gas selected from the group consisting of C3-20 α-olefin, hydrogen, nitrogen, an 18 group element in the periodic table and a saturated hydrocarbon gas, wherein the ratio between a molar concentration of ethylene in the gas fed to the liquid phase part, and a molar concentration of ethylene in the gas phase part is 1-50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
