To provide a method able to efficiently produce a fiber molded body light in weight and having sufficient rigidity, and a heat-expandable capsule blend.
The method for producing the fiber molded body includes molding a laminated web 9 containing a plant fiber (kenaf fiber or the like) and a thermoplastic resin fiber (polypropylene fiber or the like), then molding a fiber mat 13 by needling the laminated web, subsequently heat-compressing the fiber mat to mold the molded body. In molding the web, a heat-expandable capsule blend in which heat-expandable capsules are blended with the thermoplastic resin (polypropylene resin or the like) together with the plant fibers and the thermoplastic resin fibers. The heat-expandable capsule blend, in which the heat-expandable capsules are blended with the thermoplastic resin, can be used for producing the fiber molded body.
