To provide a method for producing a film by which the film formation even of a resin or a resin composition exhibiting no or low ductility can be carried out efficiently.

The method for producing the film by a solution-casting method comprises at least following steps (1) to (3): (1) a step for casting a resin solution on a base material at three or more independent positions while regulating the interval so as to be ≥10 mm; (2) a step for primarily drying the base material obtained in the step (1) as it is to form a film of the resin solution, and winding the base material while carrying the film on the base material into a roll shape; and (3) a step for unwinding the roll-shaped base material obtained in the step (2), secondarily drying the films except the films positioned at both edge parts on the base material, and winding the secondarily dried film into a roll shape.
