Abstract:

To provide a method of producing a fired body, by which the generation of thermal strain in the fired body can be suppressed, and to provide a firing furnace capable of suppressing the generation of the thermal strain.

A body 10 to be fired is arranged in a firing chamber 15 partitioned by a main partition wall 14, in such a state that the outer side of the body to be fired is surrounded by an auxiliary partition wall 17 and fired by microwaves. The auxiliary partition wall 17 contains a substance equivalent to a substance being removed from the body to be fired 10 during firing or a substance having a microwave absorption characteristic equivalent to that of the substance being removed from the body 10 to be fired during firing and has a property that it is burned out during firing.
