Abstract:

To provide a production method for a fluoro cyclic carbonate.

The method involves processes of forming a reaction mixture containing the fluoro cyclic carbonate by reacting a chloro cyclic carbonate with a fluorinated alkali or alkaline earth metal as raw materials in a solvent in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst. The method is simple in processes for synthesizing; uses the raw materials which are inexpensive, easy in obtaining and free of such danger that having toxicity and explosion with ease; is basically free of environmental pollution; and gives a fluoro cyclic carbonate product having 99.9% purity at 90% yield through rectification under reduced pressure.
