Abstract:
To provide a method producing a fluoroformate of general formula [R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated primary or secon dary aliphatic group, a substituted or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated secondary alicyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic or heteroaromatic group; (n) is 1, 2 or 3] in a short time in an excellent yield and in a high purity.
This method for producing the fluoroformate of general formula comprises reacting the corresponding chloroformate with an alkali metal fluoride in ethylene carbonate at a temperature at which ethylene carbonate is liquidified.
