Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a formed abrasive material containing many granules and a combined formed material without using a high-temp. and high pressure forming apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: The method for producing the formed abrasive material containing many granules comprises coating fine abrasive granules of cubic boron nitride or diamond with at least one layer of active coating material which chemically binds to the surface of the lower layer and sintering the coated layer at ≤1,500°C and at ≤50 kbar for <10 min. The products obtained by the process mentioned above are also provided.
