To provide a method for producing a gas hydrate with which energy required for gas hydration of methane is reduced and a gas hydrate is produced at a high temperature under a low pressure to readily handle a methane-rich gas.
The method for producing the gas hydrate comprises hydrating the methane-rich gas in the coexistence of a production accelerator and producing the methane as an H gas hydrate. The stoichiometric amount of water based on 1 unit of the H gas hydrate is 34 molecules. Furthermore, the methane- rich gas is hydrated in the coexistence of the production accelerator to produce the methane as the H gas hydrate. Thereby, transportation or storage is carried out in a solidified state. For example, a 4-12C hydrocarbon can be used as the production accelerator.
