Abstract:

To provide a method for producing graft polymer modified cellulose fiber which prevents denaturalization and a decrease in molecular weight of cellulose, maintains characteristics of cellulose fiber, and carries out efficient graft polymerization of a monomer having polymerizable groups in order to increase affinity toward a matrix resin.

A method for producing graft polymer modified cellulose fiber is provided which includes: a polymerization step in which a monomer having polymerizable groups is subjected to graft polymerization to provide cellulose fiber within a water dispersion of the cellulose fiber in the presence of an aqueous radical generator and a dispersant; and a purification step in which the monomer not grafted to cellulose fiber is removed from the reaction system. Graft polymer modified cellulose fibers and a composite resin material acquired by the production method are also provided.
