To provide a method for producing green tea for making tea leaves glossy green, improving the green tea in quality such as color of water, aroma and flavor, improving the yield of the green tea and preventing scale from adhering to a boiler.

This method for producing the green tea comprises using, as boiler feedwater when steaming tea leaves by steam, mineral-reducing water obtained by letting water run through a layer filled with a mineral material comprising a rock having a magnetic field and minerals and a ceramic, together with a reduced ceramic, and using especially mineral-reducing water (above all, mineral-reducing water lowered in oxidation-reduction potential) obtained by letting water run through a layer filled with a few kinds of mineral materials of magnetic iron ore, limestone and glauconite, and a ceramic made from specific active water and a reduced ceramic so as to improve the quality and yield of the green tea.
