Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a hardenable cloth product which is formable to any desired shape settable, as a result, not only has peculiar feeling as a material for artworks or useful articles but also enables preventing decoloration after dyed with vegetable dye.

The method for producing the hardenable cloth product comprises the following processes. A cotton cloth is prepared as a to-be-treated textile ground fabric and subjected to indigo dyeing. The cotton cloth thus dyed is pulled out of a dyeing liquid, exposed to air and sun-dried under oxidation. The resulting cotton cloth is beaten. The above dyeing, drying, and beating processes are repeated about five times, respectively. Next, the resultant cotton cloth is soaked in a solution prepared by incorporating the indigo-dyeing liquid with collagen powder or a collagen solution, pulled out of the solution and sun-dried, and then beaten. The above processes( treatments ) are repeated about five times respectively.
