Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a holding material for an exhaust gas purification device which, when the holding material for an exhaust gas purification device is punched out from an inorganic fiber-formed body by upward pressing by a punching die, can inhibit the adhesion of the holding material for an exhaust gas purification device to a receiving plate side, and which allows punching work to be smoothly and accurately performed; and to provide a punching die set used for the same.SOLUTION: A method for producing a holding material 12 for an exhaust gas purification device includes: placing an inorganic fiber-formed body 11 on a punching die; disposing a receiving plate 5 above the inorganic fiber-formed body 11; and relatively moving a punching die 1 and the receiving plate 5 in a direction in which both approach each other, thereby pressing the inorganic fiber-formed body 11 to punch out the holding material 12 for an exhaust gas purification device from the inorganic fiber-formed body 11. In the receiving plate 5, a surface on the side of the punching die 1 has a water contact angle of 75° or more. The punching die 1 includes: a punching base plate 2; a punching blade 3 provided perpendicularly to the punching base plate 2; and an elastic body disposed inside the punching blade 3 on the punching base plate 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
