Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a honeycomb structure, in which the honeycomb structure can be produced more efficiently and more easily.SOLUTION: The method for producing the honeycomb structure comprises the steps of: inserting integrated sealing tools 100 into a part of hexagonal cells 70h of a green honeycomb molding 70, that is constituted so that a plurality of hexagonal cells 70h, the adjacent ones of which are divided from each other by a partition wall 70W, are opened to the upper surface 71a and lower surface 71b of a columnar body; joining the corresponding partition walls 70W to each other; and sealing the hexagonal cells 70h. Since the integrated sealing tools 100 are inserted simultaneously into the plurality of hexagonal cells 70h, the plurality of hexagonal cells 70h can be sealed simultaneously and efficiently. A part of the integrated sealing tools 100 is separated and tool separation pieces 161 separated partially from the sealing tool 100-inserted hexagonal cells 70h are pulled out. Accordingly, the sealing tool 100 is pulled easily out of the hexagonal cell 70h. As a result, the honeycomb structure can be produced more efficiently and more easily.
