Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a honeycomb structure which is excellent in adsorption performance of HC and is less likely to be damaged in use.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a honeycomb structure comprising a honeycomb fired body in which a plurality of through holes are arranged in parallel in the longitudinal direction at a distance from partition walls, which comprises: a molding step of molding a raw material paste containing a Cu source, a β type zeolite and an inorganic binder to produce a honeycomb molded body in which a plurality of through holes are arranged in parallel in the longitudinal direction at a distance from partition walls; and a firing step of firing the honeycomb molded body to produce a honeycomb fired body, wherein before the molding step, after the firing step or during the firing step, a hydrothermal treatment is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
