Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an ingot where a large-sized and homogeneous ingot can be economically obtained even in the case an active metal having a high melting point such as Ti is contained therein.

An ingot is cast from a molten metal melted by a cold crucible induction melting process, using the ingot, a consumable electrode is formed, thereafter, the consumable electrode is remelted by a vacuum arc remelting process, and a large-sized ingot is cast from the molten metal.
