To provide an intermittently bound double-ply fabric, wherein a bound state and a non-bound state can be switched without increasing the number of healds.
Warps 5 are opened in upper and lower two stages by forming a long hole 4 in an upper half part or a lower half part of a warp heald, and a weft is selectively struck into the upper and lower opening to form the double-ply fabric. A binding warp 8 is inserted into a binding warp heald 6 forming the long hole 4 on the upper half part or the lower half part, the binding warp 8 is releasably constricted at an end part of the long hole 4 closer to the center, and the binding warp 8 is woven into one texture by releasing the constriction to form the non-bound state, while the front texture is bound with the binding warp 8 to the back texture by the constriction.
