Abstract:

To provide a method for economically producing an iodine compound with a small environmental load on industrial production.

This method for producing the iodine compound comprises performing an iodination reaction using an alcohol and hydroiodic acid, while distilling out water from the reaction system. By the method for performing the iodination reaction, while removing the water from the reaction system, the iodine compound can industrially easily economically be produced in a high yield, because the use of hydroiodic acid is reduced even by a method with small environmental load. Also, since the unreacted hydroiodic acid left can be recovered and circularly reused, the iodine compound can more economically be obtained.
