Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for directly or continuously producing an isocyanate compound from an amine compound and a carbonate compound without isolating and refining a carbamate compound generated as an intermediate.SOLUTION: There is used a catalyst for producing an isocyanate in which at least one metal compound is supported on a carrier, said metal compound being selected from an alkali metal compound or an alkaline earth metal compound which provides an isocyanate compound by bringing into contact with a reaction product of an amine compound and a carbonate compound in a gas phase or a liquid phase. Said catalyst especially preferably a catalyst for producing an isocyanate comprising porous silica which provides an isocyanate compound by bringing into contact with the reaction product in a gas phase.SELECTED DRAWING: None
